How to use JPG to PNG
- 1Add your JPG files.
- 2Click Convert to PNG; each image is re-encoded losslessly on your device.
- 3Download each PNG, or download them all as a ZIP.
How it works
Add your JPG files and each one is re-encoded as a PNG on your device. PNG is lossless, so no further quality is lost in the conversion.
Nothing is uploaded — your browser does all the work.
Why convert JPG to PNG
PNG is the better format when you plan to edit an image repeatedly, need crisp edges on graphics and text, or want to add transparency in an editor afterwards.
Note that converting a JPG to PNG can't recover detail the original JPG already discarded — but it prevents any further loss from that point on.
About file size
PNG files are usually larger than the JPG they came from, because PNG stores every pixel losslessly. That's expected and is the trade-off for a lossless, editable file.
If you need a smaller file rather than a lossless one, use the image compressor instead.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Every conversion runs locally in your browser using your device's own processor. Your images never leave your computer or phone, and nothing is stored on our servers.
Does converting to PNG improve quality?
No — it prevents further loss but can't restore detail the JPG already threw away. PNG is the right choice when you want to stop quality degrading through future edits, or need transparency support.
Why is the PNG bigger than my JPG?
PNG is lossless and stores every pixel exactly, while JPG uses lossy compression. Larger PNGs are normal. Use the compressor if a small file is what you need.
Can I convert several images at once?
Yes. Drop or select multiple files and they'll be processed in a controlled queue so your browser stays responsive. Each file shows its own progress, and you can download them individually or all together as a ZIP.
Is it free, and are there limits?
It's completely free with no account required. Because processing happens on your device, there's no per-file upload limit — the practical ceiling is your device's available memory. You can batch many files and download them as a single ZIP.
