FlexibleToolsAI is a growing collection of 291 free tools for images, PDFs and everyday development tasks — most of which run entirely in your browser. Most online converters upload your files to a remote server; we don't. Your files are processed on your own device and never leave it.
Files never leave your device
Image, PDF and developer tools convert and compress in your browser. Your files are not uploaded to any server — there's nothing to intercept, store, or leak.
Powered by the browser itself
We use native browser APIs and WebAssembly (libheif for HEIC, pdf.js and pdf-lib for PDFs, Canvas for images) so tools are fast and work offline once loaded.
Free, with no account
Every tool is free, requires no sign-up, and adds no watermark. There are no per-file limits beyond your device's own memory.
What this product is for
Converting a HEIC photo, merging a couple of PDFs, or compressing an image shouldn't require handing your files to a company you've never heard of. Modern browsers are powerful enough to do all of this locally — so we built tools that do exactly that, with a clean interface and no dark patterns.
The goal is narrow and practical: give people fast, free, single-purpose utilities that respect their data. Because the heavy lifting happens on your device, the site stays fast and cheap to run, and your privacy is guaranteed by architecture rather than by a promise in a policy.
The privacy architecture (and how to verify it)
“100% private” is easy to write and hard to trust. Here is the actual mechanism, and three ways you can confirm it yourself — without taking our word for it:
Open your browser's DevTools → Network, then run any image or PDF tool. You'll see the page load once — and then no upload request carrying your file. The bytes stay in the tab.
Once the page has loaded, disconnect from the internet and convert a file. It still works — proof that processing happens on your device, because there is no server to send it to.
Decoding and encoding run through the HTML Canvas API and WebAssembly builds of well-known open-source libraries — libheif (HEIC), pdf.js and pdf-lib (PDF), and the Canvas image encoders — all executing inside your tab, not on our infrastructure.
The 70+ image, all PDF, and all developer tools are fully client-side. The AI face-analysis tools are the exception: those models are too large to run in a browser, so those images are sent to a secure server, used only to generate your result, and are clearly labelled as such on each tool. We'd rather tell you that plainly than pretend everything is local.
How we test the tools
A converter that produces a corrupt or bloated file is worse than no tool at all. Every tool is exercised the way you'd actually use it before it ships and whenever its code changes:
- Real files, real browsers — each tool is run on genuine sample files across Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge, on both desktop and mobile widths.
- Output is verified, not assumed — converted files are opened and checked: correct format signature (e.g. a real AVIF/JPEG header), correct dimensions, preserved orientation, and intact transparency where it applies.
- File sizes are measured, not estimated — the size and quality figures in our tool guides come from actual conversions run through the same in-browser encoder you use, on reproducible sample images.
- Responsiveness is audited — layouts are checked down to ~375px to catch overflow and cramped controls, so tools stay usable on a phone.
- Edge cases are probed — huge files, transparent PNGs, mixed-orientation photos, empty inputs and unusual formats, so failures are handled with a clear message instead of a broken download.

FlexibleToolsAI is built and operated by the FlexibleToolsAI team as an independent project — it isn't a front for an upload service or a data broker. The site is funded to stay lightweight, and there's no account system precisely because we don't want your data.
