Free URL Shortener
Turn long, messy URLs into short links you can share anywhere — social bios, messages, print and slides. Choose a custom name or get a random code, keep the link forever or let it expire, see how many people clicked, and download a QR code. No account, no ads, no interstitial pages.
Paste a long URL, optionally choose a custom alias (flexibletoolsai.com/s/your-name) and an expiry, and click Shorten. You get a short link, a QR code and a click counter you can check any time by pasting the short link. Every link is checked first, so deceptive, look-alike or malware-download links can't be shortened here.

Short links that people can trust
Shortened links are a favourite way to hide phishing and malware, which is why many people hesitate to click them. Before creating a link we check the destination: it must exist, it can't point to another shortener, a look-alike domain, a direct executable download, or anything our phishing checks flag. Links go straight to the destination with a normal redirect — no ads or waiting pages.
Anyone can look up where a short link goes and how often it's been clicked, so there are no hidden destinations. Check any suspicious link with the URL Safety Checker.
Tips for better short links
Use a readable custom alias (like /s/spring-sale) so people know what to expect. Set an expiry for time-limited campaigns. For print, use the QR code — test it with your phone before printing. Add UTM parameters to the long URL before shortening if you want campaign data in Google Analytics.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this URL shortener really free?
Yes — free, with no sign-up, no ads and no interstitial pages. There's a fair-use limit of 50 new links per day per visitor to prevent abuse.
Do the links expire?
Only if you choose an expiry (1 day to 1 year). Otherwise links don't expire. Links that are reported or detected as abusive are disabled.
Can I track clicks?
Yes. Paste your short link into “Check clicks” to see the total clicks, when it was created and when it was last used. We don't record who clicked.
Can I edit or delete a link?
Not yet, because links aren't tied to accounts. Use an expiry for temporary links, and create a new link if the destination changes.
