HTTP Header Checker

Inspect the raw HTTP response of any URL. See the status code, each redirect hop, response time, and every response header — caching, compression, security, CORS, cookies and CDN headers — with a plain-English explanation of what each one does.

Enter a URL and our server requests it like a browser, follows redirects and returns the complete list of response headers from the final page, including Set-Cookie. Each common header is explained, and you can copy them all in raw format for bug reports.

How to use HTTP Header Checker

  1. 1Enter the URL.
  2. 2Check the redirect chain and status code.
  3. 3Read the headers and their explanations.
  4. 4Copy the raw headers if you need them.

What headers tell you

Cache-Control, ETag and Age show how the page is cached by browsers and CDNs. Content-Encoding shows compression (br or gzip). Server and cf-cache-status reveal the stack and CDN. Location reveals redirects. Security headers and Set-Cookie flags show how well visitors are protected.

Checking headers is the fastest way to debug caching problems, redirect loops, CORS errors and missing compression.

Grade the security headers with the Security Headers Checker, test many URLs' status codes at once with the HTTP Status Checker, and audit cookie flags with the Cookie Security Checker.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I see different headers in my browser?

Servers can vary headers by location, cookies, user agent and compression support, and your browser may be seeing a cached copy.

What do you do with the domains and URLs I check?

Our server performs the lookup once and returns the result to your browser. We don't store the addresses you check or build a history. Private and internal addresses are blocked.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

It's completely free with no sign-up and no daily credits.
