Two common quoting conventions
Per-lot: commission = lots × ratePerLot × sides. Per-million: commission = (units ÷ 1,000,000) × ratePerMillion × sides. Round-turn commission (sides = 2) is charged on both opening and closing the trade — most ECN brokers quote round-turn rates, so check your broker's specifications.
Frequently Asked Questions
One-way or round-turn — which should I use?
Check your broker's fee schedule: if it says 'per side' or lists two separate open/close charges, use one-way and double manually if needed; if it quotes a single round-turn figure, use round-turn (sides = 2) directly.
