Search Intent Analyzer
Paste a list of keywords to classify the intent behind each search — informational, commercial investigation, transactional, navigational or local — with the exact signals behind every label, a breakdown of your list, and advice on what kind of page ranks for each intent.
Paste keywords one per line. Each is classified from its wording using signals such as question words (informational), “best”, “vs” and “review” (commercial), “buy”, “price” and tool words like “generator” (transactional), login and brand names (navigational) and “near me” (local). You see the intent, the signals that produced it and a CSV export.
Queries containing these are marked navigational.

How to use Search Intent Analyzer
- 1Paste up to 500 keywords, one per line.
- 2Optionally add brand names so brand searches are marked navigational.
- 3Review the intent of each keyword and the reasons behind it.
- 4Match each keyword to the page type that fits its intent.
The five types of search intent
Informational — the searcher wants to learn (“how to do keyword research”). Commercial investigation — they're comparing before a decision (“best seo tools”, “ahrefs vs semrush”). Transactional — they want to act now: buy, download, sign up or use a tool (“buy running shoes”, “meta title generator”). Navigational — they want a specific site (“facebook login”). Local — they want something nearby (“plumber near me”).
These map closely to the query types in Google's Search Quality Rater Guidelines: Know, Do, Website and Visit-in-person.
Why intent decides what can rank
Google ranks the type of page that best satisfies the intent. A product page won't rank for “how does a heat pump work”, and a long guide rarely ranks for “buy heat pump”. Before writing, check the intent — then build the kind of page that already ranks. This analyzer classifies by the words in the query, which is fast and explainable; for ambiguous or high-stakes keywords, look at the live results too.
Frequently Asked Questions
How accurate is the intent classification?
Very good for keywords with clear modifiers (how, best, buy, near me). Bare topic keywords like “keyword research” are marked as a best guess, because they're often mixed intent — check the live results for those.
Why are tool keywords transactional?
Searches like “seo checker” or “pdf converter” come from people who want to do something right now — Google's “Do” intent — so a working tool page, not an article, ranks best.
Can a keyword have more than one intent?
Yes. The label shows the strongest intent, and the signals column shows everything that was detected.
Is the text I paste uploaded anywhere?
No. Pasted text is analyzed entirely in your browser and never leaves your device. Only the “From URL” option asks our server to fetch a public page.
