How to use SEO Checker
- 1Enter the full URL of the page you want to audit — or switch to Paste HTML for pages behind a login.
- 2Click Check SEO; the page is fetched and analyzed in a few seconds.
- 3Start with “Fix these first” — the issues most likely to hold the page back.
- 4Work through each category, fix the page, and re-check to confirm.
What the SEO checker audits
Meta & indexing: title and meta description (length measured in pixels), noindex in meta robots or the X-Robots-Tag header, canonical tag, mobile viewport, language, charset and favicon. Content: a single clear H1, a logical heading hierarchy and enough text to cover the topic. Images: missing or file-name alt text. Links: internal links, generic “click here” anchors and links with no text.
Social: Open Graph and Twitter/X card tags that control how the page looks when shared. Technical: HTTPS, HTTP status, redirect chains, server response time, HTML size, and whether the page has valid structured data (JSON-LD) that can earn rich results.
How the score works
Each check passes, warns or fails, and each category gets a score from its checks. The overall score weights meta/indexing and content most heavily, because those decide whether and for what a page can rank. A page with noindex or a non-200 status is capped at 40 — if Google can't index it, nothing else matters.
The score measures on-page best practice. Rankings also depend on backlinks, competition and how well the content satisfies the search, which no page checker can measure. To test a page against a specific keyword, use the On-Page SEO Checker; to compare with a competitor, use the SEO Score Checker.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this SEO checker free?
Yes — unlimited free audits with no sign-up or email. The only limit is a short rate limit to stop the checker from being abused.
Why does the checker say it can't fetch my page?
Some sites block automated requests, sit behind a login or firewall, or time out. In that case use Paste HTML: open the page, view its source (Ctrl/Cmd+U), copy everything and paste it in.
Does the SEO checker measure page speed?
It measures our server's response time and HTML size, which catch slow hosting and bloated pages. For Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS) use Google PageSpeed Insights, which loads the page in a real browser.
What happens to the URLs I analyze?
Your browser can't read other websites directly, so our server fetches the public page once, returns the HTML to your browser, and the analysis runs on your device. We don't store the page, the results or a history of the URLs you check. Private and internal addresses are blocked. For pages behind a login, use the Paste HTML option.
