XML Sitemap Generator
Generate a valid sitemap.xml in seconds. Crawl your site from the homepage — we follow internal links, obey robots.txt and keep only pages worth indexing — or paste a list of URLs. Copy the XML or download the file.
Enter your homepage URL and choose how many pages to crawl, or paste a URL list. The generator follows internal links, skips pages that redirect, error, are noindex or point their canonical elsewhere, and outputs a standards-compliant sitemap.xml with escaped URLs that you can upload and submit to Google Search Console.
We follow internal links from your homepage, obey robots.txt, and leave out pages that redirect, return errors, are noindex, or point their canonical elsewhere. About one page per second.

- 1Enter your homepage URL (or switch to Paste URL list).
- 2Choose the maximum pages to crawl and whether to include a lastmod date.
- 3Click Generate sitemap and wait while pages are crawled (about one per second).
- 4Download sitemap.xml, upload it to your site root, and submit it in Search Console.
What belongs in a sitemap
A sitemap should list the canonical, indexable URLs you want in search: pages that return 200 OK, aren't noindex, and whose canonical tag points to themselves. Listing redirects, 404s, or duplicates sends Google mixed signals and wastes crawling. This generator applies those filters automatically and shows what it left out and why.
Google ignores the <priority> and <changefreq> tags, so they're omitted. It does use <lastmod> when it's consistently accurate — include it only when you can keep it true.
Limits and submitting
One sitemap can hold up to 50,000 URLs or 50 MB uncompressed; larger sites split them and list the files in a sitemap index. Upload the file to your site root, add a “Sitemap: https://your-site.com/sitemap.xml” line to robots.txt, and submit it under Sitemaps in Google Search Console. Validate an existing file with the Sitemap Validator.
Most CMSs (WordPress with an SEO plugin, Shopify, Wix) already generate a sitemap that updates itself — use this tool for static sites, custom builds, or to compare against what your CMS produces.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many pages can it crawl?
Up to 100 pages per run, at about one page per second to be gentle on your server. For larger sites, paste your URL list instead, or use your CMS's built-in sitemap.
Why were some of my pages left out?
The generator skips pages that redirect, return errors, are blocked by robots.txt, carry a noindex tag, or declare a different canonical URL — none of those belong in a sitemap. The “Left out” list shows the reason for each.
Does a sitemap help my rankings?
Not directly. It helps Google discover and recrawl your pages, which matters most for new sites, large sites and pages with few internal links. Rankings still depend on the pages themselves.
Should I include lastmod?
Only if it reflects when the page's content really changed. Google uses accurate lastmod dates to schedule recrawls and ignores them on sites where they're always “today”.
What happens to the URLs I analyze?
Your browser can't read other websites directly, so our server fetches the public page once, returns the HTML to your browser, and the analysis runs on your device. We don't store the page, the results or a history of the URLs you check. Private and internal addresses are blocked. For pages behind a login, use the Paste HTML option.
