How the age estimate works
The tool detects a face and runs an age-estimation model that reads facial features associated with age. It returns an apparent age (how old you look, which isn't necessarily your real age), a likely range, and per-range scores so you can see the distribution rather than a single guess.
This runs on our server rather than in your browser — clearly different from our image and PDF tools — so the photo is uploaded for analysis.
Getting the most accurate result
Use a sharp, front-facing photo in even lighting, with the whole face visible and no heavy filters or sunglasses. Poor lighting, extreme angles, or blur reduce confidence, which the tool will warn you about.

Is this my real age?
No — it estimates apparent age (how old you look to a model), which can differ from your actual age. Treat it as a fun estimate, not a fact.
How accurate is the AI age guess?
On a sharp, front-facing, evenly lit photo, modern age models are typically within about 3–5 years of how old a person looks. Glasses, heavy makeup, filters, beards, harsh shadows and tilted angles all add error — which is why the tool shows a likely age range, not just one number.
Why do I get a different age from different photos?
Lighting, camera angle, expression, lens distortion and image quality change how old a face looks — to people and to AI alike. For a consistent result, compare photos taken straight-on, at eye level, in soft daylight.
How accurate is this?
It's an estimate from a computer-vision model, meant for entertainment and self-insight — not a medical, legal, or identity tool. Lighting, angle, and photo quality all affect the result, which the tool flags when relevant.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
Yes — unlike our image and PDF tools which run entirely in your browser, the AI face-analysis tools upload your photo to our secure server to run the model, then return the result. Your image is used for the analysis and not shared. Only upload photos of people who have consented.
