What it detects
The AI estimates the dominant emotion (happy, neutral, surprised, and so on) with a confidence score, plus how strong your smile is and whether it's even between the left and right sides of your face.
Emotion recognition from a single photo is approximate — it reads facial muscle cues, not how you actually feel — so treat it as a fun snapshot, never a lie detector or a real assessment of someone's state.

Can it tell how I really feel?
No. It reads facial muscle cues in one photo, which don't reliably map to real emotions. It's a for-fun snapshot, not a psychological or lie-detection tool.
Which emotions can it recognise?
Eight common expressions: happy, sad, surprised, angry, fear, disgust, contempt and neutral — each with a score, so you can see mixed expressions rather than a single label.
How accurate is this?
It's an estimate from a computer-vision model, meant for entertainment and self-insight — not a medical, legal, or identity tool. Lighting, angle, and photo quality all affect the result, which the tool flags when relevant.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
Yes — unlike our image and PDF tools which run entirely in your browser, the AI face-analysis tools upload your photo to our secure server to run the model, then return the result. Your image is used for the analysis and not shared. Only upload photos of people who have consented.
