Do breadcrumbs still show in Google?
Google shows breadcrumb-style paths in results, and on desktop they can replace the URL. Google may choose to display the domain only, especially on mobile, but the markup still helps it understand your site structure.
Does the last crumb need a URL?
No. The last item represents the current page, so its URL is optional. All other items need one.
Should I include the homepage?
Usually yes, as position 1. It's optional, but most sites start the trail with Home.
