Keyword Counter

Have a list of keywords you need to cover? Paste your text (or fetch a page) and your keyword list to count every keyword's occurrences and density at once — with exact matching or matching that includes plurals and variants.

Paste your text or fetch a URL, then enter your keywords one per line. The counter matches each keyword on whole words, case-insensitively — exactly, or including variants like plurals — and shows the count and density for every keyword, highlighting any that don't appear at all.

How to use Keyword Counter

  1. 1Paste the text, or fetch a page's text from its URL.
  2. 2Enter the keywords to count, one per line or separated by commas.
  3. 3Choose exact matching or include plurals/variants.
  4. 4Fix keywords with a count of 0, and export the counts to CSV.

When to use a keyword counter

Content briefs often list a primary keyword and several secondary terms to cover. Instead of searching the draft for each one, paste the whole list and see which are used, how often, and which are missing entirely. It's also handy for checking a competitor page against your target terms.

Matching is on whole words, so “art” won't match “start”. Variant matching also counts simple forms like plurals (“tool” counts “tools”). To discover the phrases a text uses without providing a list, use the Keyword Density Checker.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the count case-sensitive?

No — “SEO”, “seo” and “Seo” are counted together.

What's the difference between exact and variants?

Exact counts only the phrase as written. Variants also counts words that start with each term, catching plurals and forms like “tools” or “tooling” for “tool”.

How many keywords can I count?

Up to 100 keywords at once, on text of any length.

Is the text I paste uploaded anywhere?

No. Pasted text is analyzed entirely in your browser and never leaves your device. Only the “From URL” option asks our server to fetch a public page.
