Keyword Extractor
Find out what a piece of content is really about. Paste text or enter any URL — including a competitor's page — and the extractor pulls out the recurring keywords and multi-word key phrases, ranked by relevance, ready to copy or export.
Paste text or fetch a URL. The extractor finds candidate phrases of one to three words that contain no stop words, scores them by how often they recur (giving specific multi-word phrases a boost), removes fragments that only appear inside longer phrases, and shows the top keywords sized by relevance.

How to use Keyword Extractor
- 1Paste text, or switch to From URL and fetch any page.
- 2Read the keyword cloud — bigger phrases are more central to the text.
- 3Copy the list, or export it with counts to CSV.
- 4Use competitor keywords you're missing as ideas for your own content.
Uses for keyword extraction
Competitor analysis: extract the key phrases from the pages ranking for your keyword to see which sub-topics they cover. Content audits: confirm your page's most prominent phrases match what you want to rank for. Tagging and briefs: turn a long document into a quick list of its topics.
The extractor surfaces phrases that recur — a phrase used once isn't a theme. To research new keywords people search for, use the Keyword Research Tool.
Frequently Asked Questions
How are keywords ranked?
By relevance: how often a phrase recurs, with a boost for specific two and three-word phrases. Words that only ever appear inside a longer phrase are merged into it.
Can I extract keywords from a competitor's website?
Yes — switch to From URL, enter the page, and the extractor reads its visible text (scripts, styles and code are removed).
Does it work for languages other than English?
It extracts phrases in any language that uses spaces between words, but stop-word filtering is English-only, so results are best for English text.
Is the text I paste uploaded anywhere?
No. Pasted text is analyzed entirely in your browser and never leaves your device. Only the “From URL” option asks our server to fetch a public page.
